As the evening unfolded over the rolling hills of Apokoronas, Dourakis Winery set the scene for Ellie and Lewis’ fairytale, a celebration defined by intentional design and the sheer magic of embracing the unexpected. Just minutes before the ceremony, nature brought a sudden wave of muddy rain. Yet, as guests huddled together under a sea of umbrellas, the energy was absolutely untouchable. The second Ellie stepped out of the car, the grey skies became the backdrop to a moment filled with pure joy. We designed their aesthetic to bring warmth into every corner. Against rustic stone arches and rain-kissed vines, a colour palette of soft butter yellow, crisp whites, and organic greenery felt like pure sunshine. Ellie’s bridesmaids wore butter-yellow gowns that paired effortlessly with lemon-hued blooms, showing how thoughtful styling can bring an extra layer of beauty to a wedding’s overall design.
Rather than shifting the mood, the passing shower wrapped the stone courtyard in a cosy, atmospheric stillness that brought everyone closer together. Under candlelight, surrounded by fine Cretan wine, endless laughter, and late-night dancing, Ellie and Lewis’ day became a night of quiet magic, proof that when love leads and every detail is curated with heart, the unexpected moments often become the most extraordinary memories.
